Located in rural Suffolk, Cowlinge Hall is a moated 16th Century manor house, with a series of barns and other outbuildings that date from the 16th to the 20th Centuries. The moated site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and the house and barns are Grade II listed. The entire site is being converted to create a high-end venue, conceived as a destination for a wide range of events from exhibitions and musical recitals, to weddings and conferences.
The complex will encompass large function spaces, visitor accommodation, and back-of-house and support facilities.
It has presented an opportunity for a site-wide masterplan which will ensure the long-term sustainability of this heritage site. The scope of the work entails sensitive restoration of the historic fabric, combined with new-build interventions, creating multi-use flexible exhibition and events spaces in the barn complex.
